Volunteers from all over the Globe come to work with DAPP in Zambia

DAPP worked with in average 25 Development Instructors from many countries from all over the world. The Development Instructors (DI's) provide new energy to the projects and they get important life experiences as well.

DAPP is ready to received very practical support to our programs in Zambia by the volunteers coming every year.

The volunteers are people who have decided to commit 14 months of their life to prepare themselves and to work shoulder by shoulder in a project for 6 months with all their good intentions, hard work and talents.

Who are they ? The volunteers are people who cut off from their ordinary life. Some leave their education for a while, others their entire family and some make a break in the career. DAPP is extremely honoured by this gesture which more than 40 volunteers are showing each year.

The volunteers enrol for training in USA, Europe or China at some special schools basically called "Travelling High Schools". At these schools the volnteers meet other volunteers from many other countries which forms a unique international environment at the premises in itself a very important preparation for the international 6 months volunteer work in Zambia. DAPP has partly inflence on the curriculum of the course the volnteers go through at the school. The school has a clear interest to prepare the volunteers for the necessary and appointed tasks and challenges at the project they will go to. Tasks for example include:

1. Make a power point presentation about Europe and your own country to present at the project

2. Make partnerships with companies to donate sports equipment for a grand sports tournement in Childrens Town and prepare the program, logistics and organisation of this tournement.

3. Prepare different courses on health, hygiene, agriculture, gardening, HIV AIDS to give youth clubs, school classes, womens clubs and in the Village Action Groups when you come.

The volunteers do not get a salary as they are volunteers - they get pocket money and the experience and joy  to be a part of this program.
