SPORTLIGHTUnderserved and cross-border areas in Zambia continue to face challenges of violence against women and girls (VAWG), child marriage and gender inequality. Limited access to essential services and increased mobility expose them to GBV, exploitation and trafficking, highlighting the need for stronger community support and protection systems.

DAPP Zambia, in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is implementing Spotlight Initiative 2.0, in Isoka and Chinsali Districts of Muchinga Province to support efforts aimed at ending violence against women and girls through gender equality, women’s empowerment and strengthened community systems.

The project promotes survivor-centered and do-no-harm approaches while strengthening migration-sensitive GBV prevention and response mechanisms in collaboration with the Gender Division, community leaders and service providers.

Through community mobilization, outreach and stakeholder engagement, the initiative strengthens referral pathways, improve access to support services and promote safe and inclusive communities for vulnerable populations including women, girls, migrants and sex workers in the province.
