Aaron“My name is Aaron Sitima from Chipata. I started working in 2022 with DAPP Chipata Shop as a sales assistant under the Clothes and Shoes Project. Our work focuses on reselling 2nd-hand clothes, scarves, textiles, bags, and shoes,” Aaron said.

“At the shop, our operations are guided by production, replenishment, price reductions, and a two-week sales cycle. Through this system, we ensure that clothing and shoes remain accessible to everyone in our communities. The clothes and shoes not only offer access to affordable clothing for our customers who buy for their families, but also support small business owners and women who buy from us and resell in their local markets. In this way, they sustain their families and increase their income,” he added.

Through Clothes and Shoes, the shops play a role in protecting the environment. The team works to resell clothes, shoes, bags, and textiles instead of letting them go to waste. By doing this, they stop these items from ending up in landfills, where they would take a very long time to decay. This approach helps to reduce land degradation and supports efforts to fight climate change.

“Working in the shop has transformed how I see business and community development. I have gained knowledge in running a business, planning, customer relations, and report writing. These experiences have taught me that growth comes through practice and dedication,” he said.

“When you buy from our shop, you support local entrepreneurs. You also help children access education and health programs. Additionally, you take part in protecting the environment and building a stronger society,” Aaron said.
